Jason Smigell was, if I'm not mistaken, the one who -originated- the hockey band director dance. he must have been hockey band director, as i recall, around 1996 and 1997?
I think Nix was the original hockey band director/dancer from the late 1990s. Smigell was the hockey band director in 2000-01, between the two non-consecutive DeSena terms.
Smigell might still not have great dance moves, but if only other hockey band directors had the same amount of Michigan pride. Smigell used to taunt the opposing goalies when he was the band director until the athletic department asked him to stop.
Clif Smith was the original director/dancer. I was in the hockey band in 1994 when he started it. He would do the Travolta/Pulp Fiction dance. Somehow, it took off.

that must have been a glorious moment.
That is Jason Smigell, director of the Howell High School band, former MMB grad staff, and former director of the hockey band.

If that is wrong I don't ever want to be right.

I was there, in the south end bleachers. Unfortunately, I got a close up. Uugghh. Where are the hot female bandleaders from Howell?
